HERMAN Herman is a senior cat who was taken to his veterinarian to be euthanized by his guardian. Besides his age of 16, his kidney enzymes were slightly elevated which can be managed with a special diet and subcutaneous fluids. For whatever reason his guardian chose not to treat him so the sanctuary was called to see if we could help. We, of course, took Herman and we are happy to say with the proper medical attention and some TLC, his kidney levels are back to normal. |

ESTER Ester (formerly know as E.T) is not a senior, but due to her deformed front paw, was constantly overlooked for adoption. After being at a shelter for 8 months she was due to euthanized. We found out about this little cutie and quickly brought her home to the sanctuary. One front leg is shorter than the other and she only has 3 curled toes on that paw, but you would never know it by the way she runs after the other cats. She is a lovely, healthy girl who will live out her days at the sanctuary. |

JIMMY PICKLES Jimmy Pickles and his "sister" Spice were originally adopted from a great rescue but for no reason of their own were returned. It is very difficult for any animal to adjust to being brought back after being in a home where they thought they would live the rest of their lives. It was decided that because the cats are a little older that they come to live at "the sanctuary" and have a permanent place where they are finally home. Jimmy Pickles and Spice currently share a spacious room with their friend Aleesha who came in at the same time. |

SILVER STREAK Silver Streak is a stray cat that had been wandering around Adrianne's home that she had been feeding and caring for. "Silver" was humanely caught, neutered and vaccinated through Spay and Stay and then released back at her home. "Silver" started to realize that Adrianne provided food, and a safe place to stay and he hung around more and more. Unfortunately "Silver" is more of a lover than a fighter and after "Silver" was injured numerous times by another cat he wound up with a terrible infection in his leg so was brought into Adrianne's home permanently. The cat that injured "Silver" also had infected "Silver" with FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) which is NOT communicable to people. FIV cats can live a long healthy life and "Silver" lives happily with many other cats who do not have the virus as well as 2 other FIV cats. He does have a chronic eye issue which he is treated for but does very well and loves being brushed and petted by his best friend, Adrianne. |
